Joe Milton<\/a> doesn\u2019t miss his time in New England. <\/p>\n

The backup Cowboys quarterback opened up about his short time with the Patriots and how he \u201cfelt disrespected\u201d by the organization. <\/p>\n

Speaking on WEEI Radio<\/a> on Tuesday, Milton explained that he didn\u2019t understand why he wasn\u2019t moved up the depth chart when Drake Maye was named starter over Jacoby Brissett.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow I play the game is how I practice. Like, my shoelace is not tired. I\u2019m running over y\u2019all defense, I\u2019m throwing the ball over your head,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt got to the point with the Patriots, I\u2019ll be honest, it got to the point where I threw a deep ball to be left over [Christian Gonzalez] and while the ball was in the air, I was turning around looking at [then-head coach Jerod] Mayo, Eliot [Wolf] was right there and they couldn\u2019t do nothing but just look at the ball and the ball got completed and he scored \u2013 scout team receiver scored. And they just shook their head. It got to that point.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it would have been different if Jacoby was the starter, Drake was the backup, I was the emergency quarterback. But when you move Drake up to start, what should Jacoby now do? He got his job took. But you don\u2019t do that. You just keep him at No. 2 because he\u2019s a vet. But he\u2019s not taking reps. Me and Drake are the only ones practicing. But he\u2019s still the 2. I just felt disrespected.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Patriots selected Milton in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, five rounds after they took Maye with the No. 3 overall pick.<\/p>\n

Brissett won the starting job to open the season but was replaced by Maye in Week 6. New England is now looking to win its seventh Super Bowl<\/a> title behind Maye on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Milton was traded to the Cowboys last offseason.
