As the Eagles continue to fill out their offensive coaching staff around new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, they\u2019re being linked to a coach with ties to Mannion.<\/p>\n
Mannion, 33, is interested in bringing in veteran coach Greg Olson as his quarterbacks coach, NFL Network\u2019s Mike Garafolo reported.<\/p>\n
Olson, 62, was Mannion\u2019s quarterbacks coach when Mannion was still a player with the Rams in 2017 and the Seahawks in 2023, so the two have a ton of familiarity. And it would make sense that Mannion would get a chance to choose his own QBs coach for his first stint as an OC.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that the Eagles were interviewing 30-year-old Connor Senger for the QBs coach position. So it\u2019s looking like the Eagles will indeed be hiring a new QBs coach in 2026.<\/p>\n
The last time the Eagles brought in an outside hire at OC was when they hired Kellen Moore in 2024. Moore brought Doug Nussmeier with him from the Chargers and previously from the Cowboys. And then Moore took Nussmeier with him to New Orleans when Moore was hired as their head coach. Nussmeier is now the offensive coordinator in New Orleans.<\/p>\n
After Moore and Nussmeier left, the Eagles promoted Kevin Patullo to offensive coordinator and hired former Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler to take over as quarterbacks coach. After a disappointing offensive season, the Eagles relieved Patullo of his OC duties and it\u2019s looking like Loeffler won\u2019t be back either.<\/p>\n
Olson is a veteran coach who first became a QBs coach at the NFL level with the 49ers in 2001. Olson has spent the last 25 years coaching in the NFL.<\/p>\n
Olson has been a QBs coach or an offensive coordinator for the 49ers, Bears, Lions, Rams, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Raiders and Seahawks in his long NFL career. Most recently, he was the QBs coach for the Raiders in 2025 and took over as interim offensive coordinator after Chip Kelly was fired.<\/p>\n
