In what\u2019s shaping up to be the largest coaching staff<\/a> in Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> history, Mike McCarthy has brought in yet another hire to the organization.<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero, the Steelers<\/a> are set to hire former Washington Commanders<\/a> defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. as their new assistant head coach\/secondary coach.<\/p>\n

Whitt brings over two decades of coaching experience to Pittsburgh, including tenures with the Green Bay Packers<\/a>, Cleveland Browns<\/a>, Atlanta Falcons, and Cowboys, in addition to his defensive coordinator stint with the Commanders from 2024\u20132025.<\/p>\n

Former Steelers assistant head coach John Mitchell, who served in the role from 2007\u20132022, was the last to hold the job before he retired in February 2023.<\/p>\n
