It\u2019s expected to be heard in court on Feb. 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The latest decision by the NCAA upholds an initial denial it <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/09\/sports\/ole-miss-trinidad-chambliss-denied-sixth-year-of-eligibility\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">handed down on Jan. 9<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.36898396;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38392507\" width=\"808\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/20260108_mjr_su5_010.jpg\" alt=\"Trinidad Chambliss\" class=\"wp-image-38392507\"  \/>Trinidad Chambliss is trying to gain a sixth year of college eligibility. Rebilas-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>ESPN first reported the news.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement following the decision, Ole Miss lambasted the NCAA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NCAA Athletics Eligibility Subcommittee\u2019s decision to deny Trinidad\u2019s appeal is indefensible in light of the undisputed facts,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe NCAA staff and the subcommittee asserted that Trinidad was not denied the opportunity to compete during the 2022 season, despite the reality that he did not dress for a single game while suffering from severe, incapacitating medical conditions.
