The Eagles have hired former Packers wide receivers coach Ryan Mahaffey<\/a> as their next run-game coordinator and tight ends coach, according to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero.<\/a><\/p>\n

Mahaffey coached two seasons in Green Bay with Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. He held multiple positions during his five years with the Packers: one year as an offensive quality control coach, two years each as an assistant offensive line coach and wide receivers coach.<\/p>\n

In Philadelphia, Mahaffey will replace legendary offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland as the Eagles\u2019 run game coordinator. The run scheme next season is expected to look drastically different from Stoutland\u2019s inside-zone scheme. Under Mannion, the Eagles will add creative elements to their run game and lean more on outside-zone runs to keep defenses on its heels. <\/p>\n

Now, the Eagles must hire a new offensive line coach to help Mahaffey install the system and turn around an underperforming offensive line.<\/p>\n

Mahaffey is also replacing tight ends coach Jason Michael, who joined the Eagles in 2021 as a part of head coach Nick Sirianni\u2019s first staff.<\/p>\n

Before getting into coaching, Mahaffey played two seasons in the NFL as a fullback for the Ravens, Colts and Dolphins.
