The Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> come up semi-often with former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.<\/p>\n

This time, Roethlisberger has the Bengals<\/a> on the mind in the wake of the Steelers hiring former Cincinnati defender Domata Peko<\/a> to fill a spot on the coaching staff.<\/p>\n

During an episode of his podcast<\/a>, Roethlisberger slipped in a shot at the Bengals while declaring that Peko was one of the good guys in Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

“When you went to Cincinnati, you knew you were gonna be sore because of the cheap shots. This guy was not one. This guy was a guy that you respected. He respected the game, he respected the players, so I have a lot of respect for him. I think that’s a great pickup for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The irony, of course, is Roethlisberger and other former Steelers players implying that the vicious rivalry was a one-sided thing.<\/p>\n

This is a common thing on Big Ben\u2019s podcast, though. Back in 2022, he expressed being \u201calmost fearful\u201d of playing the Bengals<\/a> because of their dirty play. Just last year, he suggested a conspiracy theory about the Bengals\u2019 jersey colors<\/a> and field painting playing a role in the outcome of a game.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Peko joining the Steelers will, unfortunately, have Bengals fans feeling some type of way. Big Ben\u2019s comments, though, won\u2019t move the needle much, given the consistency.<\/p>\n
