Before Indianapolis Colts’<\/a> quarterback Daniel Jones season ended due to an Achilles injury, he was also working through a lower leg injury as well.<\/p>\n

The Colts<\/a> called it a fibula injury, while reports from a few NFL insiders referred to it as a fracture.<\/p>\n

But how serious was the injury that Jones was playing through? Wide receiver Michael Pittman recently provided some additional insight.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know a lot of guys that can play through a broken leg. Like it wasn’t just — I might be saying too much — it was really broken. Nothing light. I’ve seen those scans and was like ‘oh (expletive).’ He’s a tough guy, and we definitely need that.”<\/p>\n

Jones first appeared on the injury report with the fibula injury prior to the Colts’ Week 12 matchup with Kansas City. He did not miss any time.<\/p>\n

In the two games Jones played with the injury against Kansas City and Houston, he completed 33-of-58 passes for 382 yards with four touchdowns. His ability to move around or outside of the pocket was hampered, however.<\/p>\n

Then in Week 14 against Jacksonville, that is when Jones’ season came to an end with an Achilles injury.<\/p>\n

Jones is now set to be a free agent, but a reunion between him and the Colts seems like a formality at this point, which Pittman is in full support of.<\/p>\n

“I’m very confident that they’re going to do whatever it takes,” Pittman said of the Colts and Jones working out a new deal. “And I think that that’s wise. Everybody loves Dan.”<\/p>\n
