SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 Tyrod Taylor is scheduled to be a free agent<\/a> in March, and the Jets quarterback said the team expressed interest in him returning in 2026 at the end of last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been around long enough to know that conversations in January are different than conversations in March,\u201d Taylor said Thursday.<\/p>\n

Taylor has played 15 seasons in the NFL and the Jets were his seventh team, so he has seen a lot in the league. <\/p>\n

He said he\u2019s hoping to return, but free agency can be unpredictable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe in everything [coach Aaron Glenn] is doing,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cI believe he\u2019s the right person to shift the culture in the right way. Right now, it\u2019s a learning curve. I think the guys responded well throughout the locker room, and I think we have the right guys in the locker room to get it changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor appeared on Radio Row at the Super Bowl to promote Dairy Queen and their Super Bowl Halftime Feast. <\/p>\n

He is doing the promotions with Bears running back D\u2019Andre Swift \u2014 a clever \u201cTaylor Swift\u201d promotion.<\/p>\n

Taylor made four starts last season, throwing five touchdowns and five interceptions and leading the Jets to one of their three wins. <\/p>\n

He injured his groin in the fourth start against the Dolphins and did not play for the rest of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom a personal side, I think I was able to go out and take advantage of the opportunity that was presented to me,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cI think I played at a high level when the opportunity presented itself. I become a free agent in March. I don\u2019t know what the next chapter is, whether it\u2019s with the Jets or somebody else. I\u2019m fully confident in my ability to go out and continue to contribute at a high level, whether it\u2019s through playing or being a mentor and being ready to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor said he was surprised that the team parted ways with offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand<\/a>, but said he thinks hiring Frank Reich<\/a> is a good move.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lot of respect for Tanner,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cHe\u2019s recovered fast. He has a promising career in this league. Sometimes it\u2019s just not the right fit. I think going out and getting coach Frank Reich was a good move. I know he\u2019s had a ton of success throughout this league.
