There were seemingly countless moments during the Chicago Bears\u2019 2025 season<\/a> when it felt like things couldn\u2019t possibly get any better.<\/p>\n

The team delivered thrills, heart attacks, and memories that will stick with fans for a lifetime. But as with any special season, some moments rise above the rest.<\/p>\n

None stood taller than the play in overtime against the Green Bay Packers\u2014when Caleb Williams dropped back and delivered a perfect strike to wide receiver DJ Moore<\/a> for the game-winning touchdown.<\/p>\n

Chicago had just completed another improbable comeback, scoring 10 points in the final moments of regulation and recovering an onside kick to force overtime. The Packers didn’t know what hit them.<\/p>\n

After a defensive stop to open the extra period, all the Bears needed was a field goal to win. But Williams wanted more\u2014and he got it.<\/p>\n

Tom Brady later called it his “throw of the year” in the NFL. And while it may not have been the most physically difficult pass Williams has ever made, I have argued it was his best<\/a> because of how important it seemed to be to the momentum of the season.<\/p>\n

That throw will be remembered as a turning point in the Bears\u2013Packers rivalry\u2014the moment Chicago punched back, flipped the script, and announced itself as the team in control.<\/p>\n

A playoff comeback win only later reinforced the point. Still, it\u2019s the Williams-to-Moore touchdown that will live on and be replayed endlessly by Bears fans for years to come.<\/p>\n

That moment received national recognition Thursday night at NFL Honors, where the play was named Moment of the Year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moore\u2014also Chicago\u2019s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award\u2014was on hand to accept the honor.<\/p>\n

And, naturally, he teased more to come. Exactly what every Bears fan was thinking considering you could have made a list of five nominees that were all Chicago Bears moments, and each one of them could have won the award.<\/p>\n

There was no more entertaining team in the National Football League this season.<\/p>\n

If anything, this may be just the first of many signature moments Caleb Williams delivers in Chicago. Had the Bears finished off the comeback against the Los Angeles Rams, the throw to Cole Kmet at the end of regulation would have surely topped this one.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s the power of having a franchise quarterback\u2014and the Bears finally have one.
