Last fall, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport<\/a> reported that wide receiver Stefon Diggs chose the New England Patriots<\/a> over the Denver Broncos<\/a> during NFL free agency last offseason.<\/p>\n The four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro confirmed that report during Super Bowl media week.<\/p>\n “It was close,” Diggs told KOA Radio. Diggs said he has a “lot of respect” for head coach Sean Payton, and he he’s good friends with Denver offensive coordinator Davis Webb, who was his teammate in Buffalo.<\/p>\n \u201cHe helped me a lot in Buffalo, as far as like, learning the plays,\u201d Diggs said Wednesday, via the Denver Post’s Luca Evans<\/a>. \u201c… He taught me a lot of the offense. He\u2019s a good friend of mine. I think he\u2019s gonna be a hell of a coach one day.\u201d<\/p>\n Diggs ended up signing a three-year, $69 million deal with New England, and the Broncos<\/a> failed to land a high-profile receiver in 2025.
