The Los Angeles Rams are adding former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator and Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury to join coach Sean McVay\u2019s staff \u200dnext season, multiple outlets reported Friday. Kingsbury\u2019s role is currently undetermined.<\/p>\n
After Rams former offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur left to take the Cardinals head coaching gig, there was room on McVay\u2019s staff. Kingsbury rejoins the NFC West after serving as a \u200cWashington assistant the last two seasons.<\/p>\n
Kingsbury, 46, \u200cand the Commanders mutually agreed to part ways after the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
Kingsbury had a 28-37-1 record as coach of the Cardinals from 2019-22 and lost the only playoff game he appeared \u200bin. He served as a senior offensive analyst at USC for one season in between his time \u200din Arizona and Washington.<\/p>\n
In 2024, Kingsbury \u200bhelped lead the Commanders to the NFC \u200bChampionship game with rookie QB Jayden Daniels. Washington ranked seventh \u200din total offense, fifth in scoring offense and third in rushing offense. That took a dip this past season, finishing 22nd in both scoring and total offense.<\/p>\n
The Rams will welcome the addition of another offensive guru \u200dto the staff that already features McVay and pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, who received multiple offensive coordinator interviews this past \u200dcycle.<\/p>\n
The Rams will \u200dgo into next season with current \u200bNFL MVP Matthew Stafford at QB after \u200bhe confirmed \u2060Thursday night while receiving his award that \u200che would be back next season. They\u2019ll also have the dynamic wide receiver duo of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.<\/p>\n
Kingsbury also went 35-40 in six seasons (2013-18) as coach of the Texas Tech. His rosters included star quarterback Patrick Mahomes from \u20602014-16.<\/p>\n
