All the talk over the past few days concerning the Dallas Cowboys has surrounded one player – George Pickens.

Pickens had a breakout season in 2025, generating 1,493 yards receiving off of 93 receptions and 9 touchdowns, making the second All-Pro team in the process.

The former Georgia man more than justified the cost of a third round draft pick Jerry Jones gave up for his services less than a year ago, but the question now remains what the team will do with him now that he is a free agent and due for a very large extension.

An extension that, considering Dallas is currently over $30 million over the salary cap heading into the offseason, could be hard to squeeze in without causing irreparable financial instability over the ensuing years.

However, speaking on The Dan Patrick Show on Friday, Lamb made a generous offer to the Cowboys, saying that he was willing to restructure his current 4 year, $136 million deal signed back in August 2024, in order for Pickens to stay on the team.

CeeDee Lamb says he’s open to restructuring his contract in order to bring George Pickens back to the #Cowboys.

“I know he’s gonna get every penny that he deserves here in Dallas.”

CeeDee Lamb Offers To Restructure Deal For Pickens

“We gotta bring a couple pieces that we need to bring back offensively – I’m pretty everybody here knows exactly who I’m talking about,” Lamb said to Patrick on Friday, before being asked if he believed Pickens was set to return to the team this coming season.

“He has no choice, I say that,” Lamb responded in tongue-n-cheek. And when pressed on if Lamb himself would be willing to give up or restructure some of his money to alleviate cap space to fit in the team’s second star wideout, the former Alabama star replied in the affirmative.

“I mean if it’s necessary, honestly. I’m pretty good, but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna get every penny that he deserves here in Dallas.”

Will The Cowboys Keep George Pickens Long-Term?

Much of this defensiveness from Lamb comes in the wake of reports that former Cowboys edge rusher, Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers last August, tried to recruit Pickens a few days ago.

Although the very reasonable – for a man of his talents – $28 million franchise tag will be on the table for the Cowboys regardless of anything, it is still a large chunk of change for a team that would then need to find a way to clear almost $60 million worth of space between now and the official start of the 2026 league season in mid-March.

Jerry Jones likes to keep his stars, especially those he stuck his neck out to get – and has been more than vindicated on. But if the finances are unfeasible, then it is possible that Pickens is tagged and traded, yet at that point they would have already managed to get under the cap for the 2026 season, so it is not clear how much sense that would make.

Ultimately, Jones will make a decision based on the conversations he has with Pickens, but if Lamb is serious it is plausible the team may take the three-time All-Pro up on his offer.

Daniel Arwas Daniel Arwas is a sports writer who covers the NFL for Heavy.com. Daniel began his career in sports writing in 2022 and has covered the NFL and college football for Gridiron Heroics and The Hammer. More about Daniel Arwas

   More Heavy on Cowboys

    Loading more stories

Getty DENVER, COLORADO – OCTOBER 26: CeeDee Lamb #88 and George Pickens #3 of the Dallas Cowboys talk…

[2066
230,229,257,2461,7,6
0":"post-734842","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-dallas-cowboys","8":"tag-cowboys","9":"tag-dallas","10":"tag-dallas-cowboys","11":"tag-dallascowboys","12":"tag-football","13":"tag-nfl
["GET
