Unfortunately, you didn’t hear your name called.<\/p>\n
just talk about the, the process.<\/p>\n
I’m sure you found out you weren’t gonna be in, but the, the waiting game, and what that’s like for you.<\/p>\n
You know, it’s just one of those deals that to be, to be, part of the group considered is an honor, and, you know, it, it, it, you know, it doesn’t change the way I feel about my career.<\/p>\n

I, I love my teammates, my coaches, winning those championships in New York, I wouldn’t change anything.<\/p>\n
And, you know, one day, if I get in the Hall of Fame, that’s great, but it’s, again, I, I love my time, and, and, you know, playing for the Giants, my football career, nothing can take that away from it.<\/p>\n

the Giants, of course, have a new coach, and we, we actually talked with, Jackson Dartencamp Scott about earlier.<\/p>\n
Give us the excitement level kind of around where things are at right now.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I mean, I think there is a, a little buzz and excitement around, around the Giants, and Brian Harbaugh, obviously, just, you know, what, his, his resume is, is unbelievable, what he’s done in Baltimore.<\/p>\n
And so I think it’s the perfect situation, the perfect person for this job.<\/p>\n
and j- and just fortunate that he was available.<\/p>\n
Usually you don’t have someone who’s, you know, consistently coaching teams that go into the playoffs and won a Super Bowl, is truly the kind of that CEO of a franchise that comes available.<\/p>\n
And, when he did, you know, I knew the Giants, kinda had to try to jump on, on this opportunity, and I think he’s the perfect, perfect man for the job, and, and coming in, and getting this organization back, you know, to, to winning games, making playoffs, and making runs.<\/p>\n

Of course, we have to ask about, your nephew, Archie.<\/p>\n
I was at the Cheez-It Bowl.<\/p>\n
Seemed like the s- I mean, obviously, he was getting stronger as the year went along, but really, the s- the, the switch kinda flipped in that game in terms of, like, with the, with the way he was I think he had 150 yards rushing- Yeah … or something like that.<\/p>\n
How, talk about his ascension during the year, especially with things got off to a little bit of a shaky start.<\/p>\n
Yeah.<\/p>\n
Well, I think that’s just, you know, when you’re, when you’re a new quarterback playing, you know, first time being the full-time starter going into, into the season, you know, you open up on the road against Ohio State, you know, defending champs.<\/p>\n

So, you know, a lot, a lot was on his plate and, you know, and he didn’t, he didn’t, he, you know, he would admit it, he didn’t play his best early on, but he learned what you have to do to, to make changes, and to grind it through, and to get better, to make improvements.<\/p>\n
That’s all what this time is about college football.<\/p>\n
It’s about getting better every single week and never being satisfied, and you saw that.<\/p>\n
You saw that drive, and towards the end of the year, he was playing great football, rushed, you know, like you said, rushed for 150 yards, in the bowl game.<\/p>\n
I don’t think I’ve rushed for 150 yards in my career, in college or NFL combined.<\/p>\n

So, you know, he, he, you know, he has a, you know, has a lot of talent and, and was playing at a high level, so excited for him, excited for next year.<\/p>\n
Yeah, I, I covered Archie as a recruit, and I was It was great to see the swagger, like, the confidence.<\/p>\n
Do you feel like he was lacking that a little bit earlier in the year, where he was just maybe a little tight?<\/p>\n
No, I mean, I think he’s definitely got some swag, so- … that’s something I don’t have either.<\/p>\n
but no, I think, you know, maybe just trying to overthink things, trying to be perfect, you know?<\/p>\n
you know, playing quarterback, you, you gotta have a plan, but, you know, you gotta be able to adjust, and be an athlete, and, and, and get off the plan sometimes.<\/p>\n

You wanna, you know, you gotta do what you’re being coached to do, and you wanna, you know, trust the, the training that you’re doing, but then you gotta have You know, kind of relax and, and let the game come to you.<\/p>\n
You can’t be perfect on every single play and trying to, trying to play that way.<\/p>\n
So I think once he kinda figured that out, you, you saw him play a little bit more relaxed and, and, you know, just let him, let, let the natural play-making ability happen.<\/p>\n

So obviously, Kings Hawaiian, you know what they do, Slider Sunday, and I’m, I’m a big fan of, of kinda the tailgate.<\/p>\n

You know, you know, the, the, the big game is great, the football games are, are great on TV, but, you know, sometimes it’s about the food.<\/p>\n

You know, that’s, that’s part of the experience, especially when you get to the big game and you You know, there are definitely those fans that are, that are going, you know, over to a tailgate.<\/p>\n
You know, they might be interested in the competition and the game, but honestly, they might be more interested in the food, and that’s where Kings Hawaiian comes in, and they, you know, have their soft rolls, and it’s about, those sliders and the different combinations you can use.<\/p>\n
