The Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>‘ offensive line is facing a double hit after an early playoff exit, with two key starters now uncertain about their futures. According to multiple reports, offensive tackle Lane Johnson and guard Landon Dickerson could walk away from the game soon.<\/p>\n

Johnson has anchored the right tackle spot since the Eagles<\/a> selected him fourth overall in the 2013 draft. He’s a six-time Pro Bowler and won two Super Bowls with Philadelphia. In 2025, a Lisfranc foot injury limited him to 10 regular-season games and forced him to miss eight games overall, including the wild-card loss to the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dickerson joined the Birds as a second-round pick in 2021 from the Alabama Crimson Tide<\/a>. In March 2024, he signed a four-year, $84 million extension<\/a> with the franchise that made him the highest-paid player at his position at the time. He was also part of the Eagles\u2019 2025 Super Bowl<\/a> team that lifted the Lombardi Trophy after beating the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> 40\u201322.<\/p>\n

But suddenly, reports are claiming that Dickerson and Johnson are looking for a retirement path. Longtime Eagles reporter Jeff McLane shares the information on his \u201cUncovering the Birds\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of Lane and his future, here\u2019s what I can say: He\u2019s definitely not sure if he\u2019s coming back or not, is the impression I get. You would think maybe this would make it a little less likely,\u201d McLane said<\/a>, referencing the resignation of offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland after 13 years with the team.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWhen you\u2019re looking at retirement, it\u2019s, \u2018Can my body do it again? Do I want to do it again?’ Lane has a very high standard for himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, McLane is not the only one who received the retirement news. Mike Garafolo of NFL<\/a> Network confirmed he’s heard similar intel about Dickerson.<\/p>\n

“An offseason of significant change for the Eagles could include G Landon Dickerson’s uncertain future,” Garafolo wrote on his X account<\/a>. “Only 27 and five years into his career but his body has been through a lot. TBD.”<\/p>\n

The Eagles already lost Stoutland, who has led one of the NFL’s top offensive lines. While the franchise reportedly offered him a role on the 2026 staff under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, Stoutland declined and is expected to take a year away from coaching.<\/p>\n

Plus, losing both Johnson and Dickerson would strip the foundation of the league\u2019s best offensive line. To be frank, the franchise could be facing a massive rebuilding job up front heading into 2026.<\/p>\n
