The 2026 NFL Draft is only a little over two months away, and now it\u2019s time to start diving into some of this year\u2019s prospects to see which of them could immediately improve the offense.<\/p>\n
One of those prospects would most likely be USC\u2019s 6\u20194\u201d, 201-pound wide receiver Ja\u2019Kobi Lane. He\u2019s always been on NFL teams\u2019 radars, but he surprisingly declared for the NFL Draft in December after many believed that he would return to school for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
One of his most attractive attributes is his overall length at the position. He\u2019s consistently able to pluck balls out of the air and does a great job of being able to contort his body in awkward situations at the catch point. He\u2019s been one of those types of receivers in college that a quarterback can just throw the football up to, and he\u2019ll come down with it 80% of the time, regardless of the situation.<\/p>\n
Aside from Cedric Tillman, nobody on Cleveland\u2019s current roster has the type of size and wingspan that Lane has, and he would bring a different element to Todd Monken\u2019s passing game in 2026.<\/p>\n
Lane also does a great job of using his frame to box out defenders when the ball arrives, and he\u2019s able to consistently make acrobatic catches due to above-average body control. Very few receivers in this class have been as effective as Lane in the intermediate level of the field as he has, and that should translate over really well to the NFL.<\/p>\n
He\u2019d also provide the team with an excellent red zone weapon going forward for whoever ends up playing quarterback for the Browns in 2026.<\/p>\n
