Even after Denzel Boston departed for the NFL draft, the Washington Huskies<\/a> feel very good about the talent they have at wide receiver heading into the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

After bringing a talented freshman class, headlined by a trio of four-star prospects in Jordan Clay, Trez Davis, and Mason James, along with a pair of transfer portal acquisitions in Kennesaw State’s Christian Moss and Ohio State’s Bodpegn Miller, Jedd Fisch has a lot of faith in the pass-catching unit his coaching staff has put together around quarterback Demond Williams Jr.<\/p>\n

Combined with returners like Freshman All-American Dezmen Roebuck, sophomores Chris Lawson and Justice Williams, and junior Rashid Williams, who all had their 2025 seasons shortened by injuries, the Huskies<\/a> have plenty of talent at the position, even if most of it behind Roebuck and Moss is relatively unproven.<\/p>\n

“We were talking this morning about all the talent we feel the receiver group has,” Fisch said on Wednesday. “We’re going to move some guys around. We’re going to have Roebuck move a little more inside, we’re going to have Chris Lawson and Rashid outside, we’re going to let Mason James compete inside. We’ve got Jordan Clay here outside.”<\/p>\n

“Then with Christian and Trez, and some of the guys that we’ve had here…we think that he and BP, I like the height. We want to make sure that when we lost Denzel, we wanted to find guys that fit certain measurables. I thought that Christian, who’s 6-3, BP, who’s close to 6-4, Jordan, who’s 6-4, all being in that X wide receiver position, will help us continue to be able to do what we did at that position.”<\/p>\n

As for the slot, where true freshman Raiden Vines-Bright started 11 games in 2025 before choosing to transfer to Arizona State, Fisch added that he wants to see more from the position, not long after Vines-Bright insinuated that he was unhappy playing the position during his first interview as a Sun Devil.<\/p>\n

“Just what I can do and what I didn’t get to showcase at Washington. I feel like I have a lot more in my bag than I got to show,” the UW transfer said CBS 5’s Brad Denny.<\/p>\n

However, Roebuck has the ideal skill set to play the role after pulling in 42 catches for 560 yards and 7 touchdowns during his first year.<\/p>\n
