One of the Raiders\u2019 next big orders of business when it comes to the coaching staff is hiring a quality offensive line coach, and one of the best in the business could be available. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CoachStoutland\/status\/2019194061262057824\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jeff Stoutland announced<\/a> that he\u2019s stepping down with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup _1teeyfa8 ls9zuh1\">\u201cPhiladelphia, I\u2019ve decided my time coaching with the Eagles has come to an end,\u201d Stoutland posted on his X account. \u201cWhen I arrived here in 2013, I did not know what I was signing up for. I quickly learned what this city demands. But more importantly, what it gives back. The past 13 years have been the great privilege of my coaching career. I didn\u2019t just work here, I became one of you. Stout out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Eagles are undergoing a few coaching changes this offseason. Despite winning the NFC East for the second year in a row, the first time the division has had a repeat champion since 2004, their offense significantly regressed in 2025. Philadelphia went from finishing the regular season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/teams\/phi\/2024.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">seventh in points<\/a> scored en route to a Super Bowl win to finishing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/teams\/phi\/2025.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">19th<\/a> and getting eliminated from the playoffs during the Wild Card round.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">That led to Kevin Patullo being a one-and-done offensive coordinator, and the organization recently hired former Green Bay Packers\u2019 quarterbacks coach and nine-year (2015-2023) backup quarterback Sean Mannion as Patullo\u2019s replacement. Mannion got the job about a week before Stoutland\u2019s announcement, and Mannion is expected to bring in his own staff, making the timeline of events interesting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">According to NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport, the \u201cinitial plan\u201d is for the legendary offensive line coach to remain involved with the organization\u2014likely in a front office type of role. However, another insider for the network, Mike Garafolo, reported that other teams are interested in bringing in Stoutland (h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/eagles-ol-coach-jeff-stoutland-parting-ways-after-13-seasons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL.com\u2019s Grant Gordon<\/a>). The Raiders should undoubtedly be one of those \u201cother teams\u201d and give him whatever he\u2019s looking for to join the staff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The offensive line was undoubtedly one of Las Vegas\u2019 biggest weaknesses this past season. At the beginning of January, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/47517128\/las-vegas-raiders-2025-collapse-mark-davis-tom-brady-pete-carroll-geno-smith-dysfunction\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESPN published an article<\/a> that detailed the dysfunction that led to the club\u2019s disappointing 3-14 campaign, naming Brennan as one of the biggest issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Between Jackson Powers-Johnson, Caleb Rogers, Charles Grant and DJ Glaze, the Silver and Black have plenty of young talent in the trenches. Dylan Parham and Jordan Meredith could be included in that group, too, but those two will be free agents in March. Kolton Miller is also excluded, but the 30-year-old, eight-year NFL veteran is already a well-established starter in the league.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">In other words, the position group has promise and just needs a competent coach to develop and maximize each individual\u2019s talent. And the Raiders would be hard-pressed to find someone with a better resume than Stoutland\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">During his 13 years in Philadelphia, the Eagles\u2019 offensive line accounted for 26 Pro Bowl selections and 15 All-Pro bids (h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/sumersports.com\/sumerbrain\/chats\/eb502317-edb3-4e69-ad01-f1ec9405a43d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SumerBrain<\/a>), an average of two Pro Bowlers and a little more than one All-Pro per season. Like Mailata, Tasi\u2019s background is on the rugby pitch, and his first football game came during the preseason this past August. If the organization wants to get the most out of the former rugby player, bringing in the coach who developed someone with the same background into an All-Pro would be a smart move.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Long story short, Stoutland is Las Vegas\u2019 best option when it comes to getting the most out of its offensive line. While general manager John Spytek said he\u2019ll let the team\u2019s next head coach pick the rest of the coaching staff and Kubiak likely has an offensive line coach in mind, Spytek, Kubiak and the rest of the Raiders\u2019 brass should do whatever they can to bring in the Eagles\u2019 former offensive line coach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">If he wants to be the offensive coordinator, no problem. Kubiak is likely going to call the plays anyway, and Stoutland was Philadelphia\u2019s run game coordinator from 2018 to 2025 to be qualified for a promotion. If he\u2019s looking for a lot of money, hand him a blank check. After Jeanty repeatedly faced defenders in the backfield as a rookie and with a new quarterback on the way in projected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, it\u2019d be a wise investment to have the highest-paid offensive line coach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Sure, maybe the soon-to-be 64-year-old isn\u2019t interested in the grind of being an NFL coach anymore, but the only way for Las Vegas to find that out is to pick up the phone and see what it would take to lure him to Sin City.
