Pickens totaled 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season as a Cowboy — all of which stand as career-high numbers. While the Cowboys failed to reach the postseason despite boasting a No. 2-ranked total offense, Pickens showcased his talents once again in the Pro Bowl Games this week with several highlight moments, culminating in him earning the Offensive MVP of the NFL’s all-star flag football game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pickens is well aware his “price tag went up”<\/a> following a breakout campaign and made it clear he’d “love to” stay in Dallas this week. But considering the Cowboys’ high-priced roster, which includes quarterback Dak Prescott<\/a>, WR CeeDee Lamb<\/a>, OL Tyler Smith<\/a>, and defensive tackles Quinnen Williams<\/a> and Kenny Clark<\/a>, keeping Pickens will take some work to achieve.<\/p>\n

With a WR market that has skyrocketed in recent years, Pickens is expected to bring in upwards of $20 million a year in his next contract. The Cowboys could also decide to hand the WR a franchise tag, which is estimated to guarantee him $28 million-plus for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Prescott thinks it’s “vital” for the Cowboys to figure out a way to keep Pickens.<\/p>\n

“I think it must be done,” Prescott said at the Pro Bowl Games. “I think obviously from Jerry to everybody down understands that, and one the impact on this offense and the team and the great player that he is, we’ve got to find a way to keep him here.”<\/p>\n

Lamb took it one step further on Friday, telling The Dan Patrick Show on Friday<\/a> that he’d be willing to restructure his $136 million contract “if it’s necessary” in order to retain Pickens.<\/p>\n

“I know he’s going to get every penny he deserves here in Dallas,” Lamb added.<\/p>\n

Pickens seemingly found a home in Dallas in 2025 and his teammates are clearly on board with him remaining a Cowboy.
