The Denver Broncos<\/a> cut veteran wide receiver Trent Sherfield<\/a> ten games into the 2025 season, a surprising decision that we didn’t see coming. Sherifled apparently didn’t see it coming, either.<\/p>\n Sherfield eventually landed on the New England Patriots<\/a>‘ practice squad, and the Pats are set to face the Seattle Seahawks<\/a> in the Super Bowl on Sunday. While speaking to media members during Super Bowl media week, Sherfield said it was a “big shock” to be cut by the Broncos<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n “It was a shock,” Sherfield said, via Andrew Mason of DenverSports.com. “It was a big shock. Sean [Payton] had called me up, we spoke, and he was real cordial about it. I talked with George [Paton] and Sean and I was shocked by it. I think some other people were also shocked by it as well, too. My agent was shocked by it.”<\/p>\n Despite the unexpected cut, Sherfield said he doesn’t hold ill will toward the team.<\/p>\n “But again, I wouldn’t \u2014 I don’t hold any bad blood or anything like that,” he said. “It’s business at the end of the day. That’s what type of league we’re in; we’re in a business. [I] picked up the pieces and moved on.”<\/p>\n Need a news break?
