Up until the last two seasons, the San Francisco 49ers had tormented the Los Angeles Rams. The tides have seemingly shifted in the NFC West, so are the Seattle Seahawks the Rams\u2019 new archnemesis?<\/p>\n
Los Angeles played Seattle three times during the 2025 campaign and lost both games in the Emerald City by a combined five points. Both games were winnable, in particular the second meeting, as the Rams jumped out to a 30-14 fourth quarter lead before choking it away. Mike Macdonald made a gutsy call in overtime to go for the win and got it.<\/p>\n
Then, a handful of errors in the NFC Championship contributed to L.A. failing to represent the conference on the Whiners\u2019 home turf. Sean McVay took the loss especially hard.<\/p>\n
And McVay said that despite getting his butt kicked in a Super Bowl. L.A. under Sean McVay was generally a thorn in Seattle\u2019s side during the Pete Carroll era. Carroll\u2019s team went 5-10 against the Rams, including a 30-20 home loss in the 2020 Wild Card Round.<\/p>\n
With Macdonald now at the helm, the aforementioned two-point conversion in Week 16 felt like a changing of the guard in the division. The second-year coach has gone 3-2 in five matchups versus McVay, already two wins from tying Carroll\u2019s win total in seven seasons against the Rams coach.<\/p>\n
Sure, we can totally still hate the 49ers \u2014 it would feel wrong not to. However, the Rams have won four of their last five against San Francisco, dating back to the 2023 regular season finale. This came after losing nine of their previous 10 to the Whiners, beginning in October 2019. Just when Los Angeles was getting a handle on the Niners, now they\u2019re seeming losing ground to Seattle.<\/p>\n
With the Seahawks on the cusp of winning their second Lombardi Trophy, do you now consider them a greater enemy to L.A. than the 49ers? Or, are the Niners (rightfully) still at the top of your hit list?<\/p>\n
