There’s pomp. There’s circumstance. And there’s a whole lotta capitalism. If you squint, you may even catch some football in there somewhere.

I needle because I truly love Super Bowl Sunday. I like big events. I like live, pop culture moments. I like experiencing something together with the rest of the world. And, boy, do I love football. The Super Bowl has become an event for the masses, well beyond those who are just fans of football. Whether it’s celebrity watching, highly-produced music acts, or, yes, the commercials, the NFL has managed to make the Super Bowl the biggest night in television every single year.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

What is your favorite part of Super Bowl Sunday?

My answer: Football still reigns supreme when it comes to the Super Bowl for me. I’ll be watching for what should be a fascinating matchup between the Patriots and the Seahawks. I’m fascinated by how both quarterbacks will respond to the biggest of stages, and whether New England can handle a Seahawks team that looks deeper and more well-rounded on paper. And more than anything else, I just want to watch one more NFL game before the pit of despair that is the NFL offseason.

Beyond that, I do enjoy watching the halftime show, because it’s often an artist I’m not that aware of, and I like to broaden my taste in music. That will certainly be the case with Bad Bunny this year, and given that he’s quite literally one of the most popular modern artists right now, I look forward to seeing what other people see in him. I also enjoy sitting back and watching the world argue over whether that was the best or worst Super Bowl halftime show of all time, because there can be no in-between.

Finally, any excuse to eat shrimp and pigs in a blanket is a good event to me.

What are your favorite parts of Super Bowl Sunday?
