While Bad Bunny may be one of the most popular musicians in the world, there’s no shortage of people who intend to tune his Super Bowl<\/a> halftime performance out. So one ex-NFL star believes he has a perfect idea for how the performing artist can quickly get the fans on his side.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of Green Light with Chris Long, the former NFL<\/a> defensive end suggested that if Bad Bunny opened his act with Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA,” it would be a perfect way to silence the critics and get people going.<\/p>\n

“First song in the halftime show… ‘Born in the USA.’ Bruce Springsteen comes out of a hole with a guitar with an American flag suit and the two do a duet, peoples’ heads would explode like when Clayton Bigsby was revealed. I think if Bad Bunny – I don’t know where you are Bruce Springsteen Boss Man – fly to (expletive) San Francisco, have the first song ‘Born in the USA.’ I think peoples’ tops explode,” Long said.<\/p>\n

Brilliant?<\/p>\n

“Born in the USA” famously ranks among the most misunderstood songs that Bruce Springsteen ever wrote. While often cited as a song inspiring patriotism and love for the United States, it actually critiques the country and the American Dream in a number of profound ways.<\/p>\n

Whether Long himself realized that or not, fans in the comments thought it would be a brilliant way for Bad Bunny to troll his haters.<\/p>\n

“A Puerto Rican singer and the original artist, both of whom have been [expletive] on by so-called patriots, using a song about how Americans treat other Americans like [expletive], it pretty on the nose! Chris Long did some homework here. Well done!” one user replied.<\/p>\n

“That suggestion slaps, Chris!” wrote another.<\/p>\n

“This would be the funniest (expletive) ever lol,” a third wrote.<\/p>\n

“Someone needs to tag Bruce Springsteen asap.”<\/p>\n

As cute of an idea as it is from Long, it’s probably too late for Bad Bunny to make that a new plan if he didn’t already plan it out weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Springsteen himself famously performed in the halftime of Super Bowl XLIII 17 years ago. “Born in the USA” was not one of the songs he sang though.<\/p>\n
