The Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> are considering using the franchise tag on defensive end Trey Hendrickson, according to NFL Network<\/a>‘s Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.<\/p>\n

Garafolo added that a tag-and-trade scenario remains possible.<\/p>\n

The trio also reported Feb. 8<\/a> that the Bengals won’t be entertaining trade offers for quarterback Joe Burrow and will spend this offseason to improve the roster.<\/p>\n

Hendrickson was among 2025 Bengals becoming unrestricted free agents<\/a> when the season ended.<\/p>\n

After Hendrickson agreed in August to a\u00a0revised deal<\/a>\u00a0for the 2025 season that\u00a0included a $14-million raise<\/a>, the\u00a02024 NFL sacks leader<\/a>\u00a0played in just seven games and recorded four sacks.<\/p>\n

Hendrickson\u00a0aggravated a hip injury<\/a>\u00a0on a\u00a0late block from behind<\/a>\u00a0by Jets offensive lineman John Simpson during the team’s\u00a0Week 8 loss<\/a>\u00a0and missed the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
