Nasir Adderley, a former second-round draft pick who played four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, announced Monday that he intends to return to the NFL in 2026 \u2014 three years after his shocking retirement at age 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Adderley, 28, was relatively healthy when he walked away from the NFL<\/a> in March 2023. He launched a real estate business. He became a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. He trained clients at a fitness center and coached others virtually<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, he said in a social media post, the former defensive back is ready to return to the gridiron.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s now been three years since I left the NFL, and I am extremely happy with my development,\u201d Adderley wrote in the post<\/a>. \u201cHealth, family, and entrepreneurship were my top priorities, and I\u2019m proud of what I\u2019ve been able to accomplish. The freedom to manage my own schedule was very important to me, but what I didn\u2019t realize was how much I\u2019d miss having football in my life\u2014the competition, the brotherhood, and simply being involved in the game that means so much to me and my family.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, I am officially announcing my intention to return to the NFL.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 50 games with the Chargers from 2019-22, Adderley recorded three interceptions, recovered two fumbles, and reocrded 232 tackles (168 solo, 64 assisted). <\/p>\n

The former University of Delaware star was selected by the Chargers with the 60th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
