Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders have received word that star pass rusher Maxx Crosby has no plans to suit up for the team again.<\/p>\n
While the Seattle Seahawks celebrated their second Super Bowl championship<\/a> after a commanding 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Super Bowl LX, the Raiders find themselves in a drastically different position, having posted the NFL’s worst record in the 2025 season.<\/p>\n Looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, the Raiders<\/a> appear poised to select Indiana’s National Championship-winning quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, with the first overall pick, pairing him with a Seahawks coach who announced his departure moments after hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.<\/a><\/p>\n But Brady and the Raiders may have just absorbed a significant setback in the hours following the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n On Monday, Jason La Canfora, a former NFL Network Insider now with SportsBoom.com, reported that an unnamed NFL general manager disclosed that Crosby, a two-time All-Pro, has informed Brady he doesn’t intend to continue playing in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n Maxx Crosby’s future with the Raiders is in doubt (Image: Brooke Sutton\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n The general manager, who reportedly has interest in acquiring Crosby via trade, also stated: “That’s a fact [that Crosby told Brady he does not want to remain in Las Vegas]. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up.”<\/p>\n While speculation has circulated regarding Crosby’s future, considering his standing as one of the league’s premier pass rushers and the Raiders’ disappointing 2025 campaign, the 28 year old recently shared with Colin Cowherd that he’s choosing to stay silent on matters concerning his future after previously facing backlash for openly discussing certain Las Vegas-related topics.<\/p>\n “Here’s what I’ll ask, where are you, today, with the Raiders? Where’s your mind at? What are your thoughts? … Just lay it out there, where are you with the Raiders?” Cowherd pressed Crosby, who joined the Raiders as a fourth-round selection in 2019, eliciting a detailed explanation from the defensive star.<\/p>\n Currently recovering from minor meniscus surgery, Crosby responded: “It’s like damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I’ve learnt in the past that being too vocal and too involved with trying to make [decisions]. That’s who I am to my core. That’s all I love, that’s all I care about and love is being the best version of myself in that locker room and on the field on Sunday’s and in practice.”<\/p>\n He went on to say: “Nowadays, this past year, year and a half, I’m not talking about stuff like that because that’s not my job. I’ve been advised … ‘Maxx, I know you care, you’re obsessive about, you want to win no matter what, but you can’t control everything’, and I’ve learned that. So now that I’m quiet, I’ve got people making big statements for me.<\/p>\n “And they’re like Maxx must have told them this … for me, I just sit back and laugh because I know my truth and when I go to bed at night, I have a smile on my face because I don’t have to explain nothing to nobody.
