San Francisco 49ers <\/a>defensive end Keion White is recovering after being shot early Monday night, raising concerns about player safety after two 49ers players have been shot within three years.<\/p>\n

According to The San Francisco Standard<\/a>, White and his friends were holding a party at a San Francisco bar and nightclub when hip-hop artist Lil Baby\u2019s<\/a> entourage tried to get into the event. White allegedly argued with Lil Baby. witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, one of which hit White in the leg.<\/p>\n

White was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury and is expected to recover. White\u2019s shooting is the second incident involving a 49ers player in less than two years. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall<\/a> was shot in the chest during an armed robbery in the city Aug. 31, 2024. Pearsall survived but missed the first six games of his rookie season.<\/p>\n

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie said he was thankful that White will be OK.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny violent incident in our city is unacceptable, and I\u2019m hoping Keion recovers quickly,\u201d Lurie said via ABC 7 <\/a>in San Francisco. \u201cI\u2019ve spoken with SFPD and 49ers leadership \u2014 we are all grateful to our SFPD officers for their quick response. As always, I will continue working with San Francisco law enforcement to ensure our neighborhoods and our residents are safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans reacted to White being shot with disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is happening to these 49ers bro,\u201d X user @_iAM_sam_<\/a> said. \u201cProtect your players my God.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a Free Agent was smart, he wouldn\u2019t go to SF,\u201d X user @ny152g<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLegit question, is San Fran the hood or something?\u201d X user @sports_feenz<\/a> asked. \u201cCause Full House had me fool the way these 49ers getting shot!\u201d<\/p>\n
