If running back Rico Dowdle leaves the team in free agency over the offseason, the Carolina Panthers<\/a> will have to identify a replacement in the backfield.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Super Bowl 60 MVP Kenneth Walker III could be a target.<\/p>\n

Panthers named top potential landing spot for Kenneth Walker III<\/p>\n

Zachary Pereles\u00a0of CBS Sports recently\u00a0named the Panthers<\/a>\u00a0as a top potential landing spot for Walker, who is headed for free agency after helping the\u00a0Seahawks<\/a>\u00a0claim victory in the Big Game.<\/p>\n

Walker rushed the rock 27 times for 135 yards against the New England Patriots<\/a> in Super Bowl 60. He also caught two passes for 26 yards.<\/p>\n

“Last year, Carolina ranked 28th in explosive play rate. Bryce Young isn’t the type of player to rip off big gains through the air consistently, and if Hubbard’s down 2025 is a sign of things to come, Carolina needs another playmaker,”\u00a0Pereles wrote.<\/p>\n

“The Panthers graded as the NFL’s fourth-best run-blocking unit, per Pro Football Focus, and placing Walker in that environment could produce exciting results.”<\/p>\n

For what it’s worth, Walker has made it clear<\/a> that he would like to continue his career in Seattle if possible.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been here four years, so you know I’ve gotten to know a lot of stuff about Seattle, and you know a lot of the city, and I feel like they feel good about me as well,” Walker said recently. “So if it was my choice, though, I’d definitely stay.”<\/p>\n

It makes sense that Walker would want to continue his career with the team he just helped win the Super Bowl, but at the end of the day the decision might be out of his hands.<\/p>\n

If he does need to find a new home outside of Seattle, Carolina could potentially make sense for both sides.<\/p>\n
