{"id":743650,"date":"2026-02-11T00:43:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T00:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/743650\/"},"modified":"2026-02-11T00:43:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T00:43:16","slug":"rams-lineman-rob-havenstein-retires-after-11-seasons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/743650\/","title":{"rendered":"Rams lineman Rob Havenstein retires after 11 Seasons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rob Havenstein, the Rams\u2019 longtime right tackle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DUl1w3Ik6yU\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">announced his retirement<\/a> after 11 seasons with the franchise in a social media post on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin, Havenstein arrived during the Jeff Fisher era, back when the Rams were still tethered to St. Louis and relevance felt like a distant promise. <\/p>\n<p>He survived regime changes, schematic overhauls, relocation and the violent churn of the NFL, becoming one of the few true through-lines of the organization\u2019s modern history. When head coach Sean McVay arrived and reshaped the franchise\u2019s identity, Havenstein didn\u2019t need reinvention. <\/p>\n<p>He simply kept doing his job \u2014 at a high level \u2014 and McVay built around him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s an all-time Ram,\u201d said McVay when asked about Havenstein\u2019s future last week. \u201cHe\u2019s a legacy player. AP<\/p>\n<p>The Rams\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/game\/_\/gameId\/401326638\/rams-bengals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021<\/a> season stands as the crowning achievement of Havenstein\u2019s career. <\/p>\n<p>That championship run was fueled by star power and headlines, but it was stabilized by players like Havenstein, anchoring the right side, with Andrew Whitworth protecting Matthew Stafford\u2019s blindside. During 10 of his 11 seasons, he played at least 97 percent of the snaps he was physically able to play. <\/p>\n<p>In 2016, he logged all 1,100 offensive snaps across 16 games. In 2022, on a 17-game schedule, he did it again \u2014 every snap, all 1,018 of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An ankle injury limited him to just seven games in 2025, and now, just days after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/07\/sports\/nfl-mvp-matthew-stafford-returns-to-los-angeles-rams\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stafford confirmed he\u2019ll return for 2026<\/a>, Havenstein steps away.
