It\u2019s hard to feel good about the New England Patriots 2025 season after being held scoreless for three quarters on the world\u2019s biggest stage. But, in the grand scheme of things, the Patriots were playing with house money.<\/p>\n
Football season has not felt like football season in Foxboro for most of the 2020s.<\/p>\n
The Patriots had just one winning season in the previous five years, there wasn\u2019t a single 4,000-yard passer, and it had been seven seasons since the last playoff win. <\/p>\n
That changed in year one under head coach Mike Vrabel. But even Vrabel couldn\u2019t have done it without the play from second-year quarterback Drake Maye.<\/p>\n
Maye addressed his playoff struggles<\/a> in Tuesday afternoon\u2019s press conference, but he also took a victory lap, highlighting what the 2025 Patriots did<\/a> for Boston sports fans.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cThe foundation we set for this city, for this fan base, we kind of got them back and got some energy back in this city,\u201d Maye said. \u201cWe talked about in the quarterback room all year long turning this city back up. I think we did that, I think we felt that this year. <\/p>\n \u201cWe were in the biggest game at the highest level. The Pats, they said we were back, but we came up a little short. Sometimes that happens, sometimes we wish things would have gone differently.
