<\/p>\nTiffany & Co. have congratulated Super Bowl LX champions Seattle Seahawks on their Super Bowl victory and winning the Vince Lombardi trophy.<\/p>\n
Following the Seahawks victory over the New England Patriots, they raised the Tiffany & Co. Vince Lombardi Trophy at the weekend (February 8).<\/p>\n
In a press release, the jeweller said they believe the trophy: “symbolises the pinnacle of gridiron glory.”<\/p>\n
According to Tiffany & Co. it takes four months and approximately 72 hours of labour for their artisans to craft the trophy.<\/p>\n
The design depicts a regulation size football in kicking position and stands at 22-inches tall with a weight of seven pounds.<\/p>\n
They use a combination of classic techniques and new innovations to handcraft the trophy. Throughout the process, they use processes from spinning, silversmithing and chasing to hand engraving and polishing.<\/p>\n

The initial design emerged in 1966 from Oscar Riedener, a former Vice President at Tiffany & Co. He sketched the trophy on a napkin during a meeting with then-NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle.<\/p>\n
From that first design it was first handcrafted for the inaugural Super Bowl in 1967.<\/p>\n
The trophy was renamed the Vince Lombardi trophy in 1970 to honour the late Green Bay Packers coach, Lombardi, who led his team to victory in the first two Super Bowls.<\/p>\n
Tiffany & Co. handcraft the Vince Lombardi trophy and over at the Tiffany & Co. hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island.<\/p>\n
These trophies include a host of awards given throughout the NBA and WNBA, such as the NBA Larry O\u2019Brien Trophy and WNBA Finals Championship Trophy.<\/p>\n
As for their other involvement in the world of NFL, the AFC and NFC national trophies have been crafted by the house since 2010.<\/p>\n
