Rams News: They\u2019re still in a good spot, no?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">There is some heavy disappointment about the fact that the Los Angeles Rams \u201ccoulda woulda shoulda\u201d when it comes to the latest Super Bowl, but despite the \u201ccoulda woulda shoulda\u201d, there is a lot to be excited about.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">I am sure there\u2019s plenty to write and talk about when it comes to the Rams and their two first round picks, the return of Matthew Stafford and the true emergence of Puka Nacua, there\u2019s plenty to look forward to when it comes to 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Of course, yes, there\u2019s still plenty to say about the \u201ccoulda woulda shoulda\u201d, but there\u2019s a lot to be happy about too with regard to the 2025 season, and the future of the L.A. Rams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Hump Day!<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cHavenstein was the last member of the St. Louis Rams on the roster. He was drafted in the second round of the 2015 <a href=\"https:\/\/atozsports.com\/nfl-draft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NFL Draft<\/a>, the same year that the Rams added running back Todd Gurley. Ever since then, he manned the right tackle spot, and was a key cog in two Super Bowl runs and a Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl LVI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Throughout his career, Havenstein was a model teammate and player for the Rams. He never missed a start, no matter how many injuries he had to battle through, going for 148 games, two shy of Hall of Famer Deacon Jones and the 27th most-played games in Rams\u2019 history.\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lafbnetwork.com\/nfl\/la-rams\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Rams<\/a> could be on the verge of a significant defensive reshaping \u2014 and it starts with the secondary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">According to CBS Sports\u2019 Matt Zenitz, the Rams are expected to hire Michael Hunter from the University of Tennessee as their next defensive backs coach, continuing an offseason defined by quiet but meaningful coaching change.\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cUnfortunately, head coaches need new coordinators and positional coaches on staff as well. And so, the same Los Angeles coaching staff that survived the first round of hiring must now brace for the aftershocks of a second round. Now, Assistant head coach Aubrey Pleasant <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapSheet\/status\/2020920337194524906\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">is interviewing<\/a> for open defensive coordinator positions with both the Arizona Cardinals and the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">He is likely to be offered one of the two positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">This could be the deepest cut of all. It\u2019s particularly detrimental to a secondary that seemed to regress in 2025. The defense is currently in a state of flux, and nobody is more familiar with LA\u2019s defensive backs than Coach Pleasant.\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cThe Rams will trade up in the draft for a quarterback,\u201d Schatz noted. \u201cThey need a young talent for when Stafford is ready to hang \u2019em up, whether that\u2019s this offseason or in a few years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">If Schatz\u2019s prediction on Sean McVay\u2019s decision is right, it could fix the quarterback dilemma the team could have at the end of the 2026 season. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essentiallysports.com\/category\/nfl\/los-angeles-rams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Rams<\/a> are projected to have nine or ten total picks from the 2026 NFL Draft, most notably two first-round selections at the 13th and 29th spots.
