But we now know how New York City residents were using their toilets during and after Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The official NYC Water social media account<\/a> was kind enough to share this statistic with the world on Monday night:<\/p>\n

“NYC saw a significant reduction in water usage throughout the five boroughs during the Super Bowl\u2019s #BadBunny halftime show yesterday, but in the 15 minutes right after the show ended, there was a spike in usage equivalent to 761,719 toilets flushing across town.”<\/p>\n

The data nerd in us wants to know how this compares to all other 15-minute windows of time. There are a lot of toilets in New York City.<\/p>\n

It also would be fun to know just how much fewer toilets flushed during the show compared to afterward.<\/p>\n

Clearly, people were tuned in and watching the performance.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny brings high energy and good vibes, and even for those who hadn’t watched him before, it was likely an entertaining experience.<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl is different than almost all other games in that regard. You can’t leave right when it goes to halftime. You have to watch the show.<\/p>\n

Only after the show, which is the reason some people watch the big game in the first place, can you take care of business.<\/p>\n

There’s usually time, because they have to clear the field of all the props and people they have out there to begin with.<\/p>\n

So that’s how you end up with toilets flushing all across the five boroughs in the same 15-minute window on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Did you need to know that? No. But they told us, and it would’ve been rude not to share.<\/p>\n
