About five years ago, Trevon Diggs tied Everson Walls\u2019 Cowboys record for interceptions in a single season.<\/a> Now, Walls is sharing his thoughts on Diggs\u2019 Dallas departure.<\/p>\n

Walls recently joined 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM),<\/a> where he discussed the end of Diggs\u2019 time with the Cowboys. Walls said he felt the relationship had gotten strained between Diggs and the franchise by the time the cornerback was waived.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some relationships that you think can handle more than you thought. There are some relationships that are up and down,\u201d Walls said. \u201cI\u2019m sure Trevon thought that this was going to work out, but you\u2019ve got to do your part. There are rumors that he wasn\u2019t doing that, and I\u2019m not talking about on the field, necessarily. I\u2019m talking about buying into the culture of the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walls added that he never felt Diggs bought into the Cowboys\u2019 culture after he dealt with a knee injury over the 2025 offseason.<\/a> The Cowboys icon said buying in is easier when a player is having a productive year.<\/p>\n

Diggs notably tied Walls\u2019 Cowboys record in 2021, when he reeled in 11 interceptions throughout the regular season. Diggs struggled to regain that rhythm toward the end of his Dallas tenure.<\/p>\n

Diggs closed out the 2025 season with the Green Bay Packers, appearing in the team\u2019s wild-card playoff loss to the Chicago Bears. Green Bay released Diggs after its postseason loss.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI went back and looked at some of his highlights. Just amazing some of the plays that he made, not just the interceptions,\u201d Walls said. \u201cBut it\u2019s where you are when things go south, and he wasn\u2019t in a good place when he did that.\u201d<\/p>\n
