McCarthy will have plenty on his hands when the 2025 NFL season rolls around this fall.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy, 22, and his fianc\u00e9e, Katya Korupas, announced they are expecting their first baby in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DJ7xtYlAuG0\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:a joint Instagram post;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a joint Instagram post<\/a> on Wednesday, May 21.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best surprises come when you least expect them,\u201d the couple shared. \u201cOur sweet baby boy is arriving in September and we couldn\u2019t be happier \ud83e\ude75\ud83c\udf7c.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy, who won a national championship at the University of Michigan in 2023, received congratulatory comments from many of his former Wolverine teammates, including Colston Loveland, Blake Corum and Will Johnson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-moms\/pictures\/pregnant-celebrities-of-2025-stars-who-are-expecting-babies\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Celeb Pregnancy Announcements of 2025: Stars Who Are Expecting Babies;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Celeb Pregnancy Announcements of 2025: Stars Who Are Expecting Babies<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The quarterback\u2019s Vikings teammate Harrison Phillips also left a supportive comment on the post, writing, \u201cY&#8217;all are going to be the best mom and dad \ud83d\ude4f.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy and Korupas, 22, got engaged in January 2024, which the couple announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C2TtOO5rScw\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:via an Instagram photoshoot;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">via an Instagram photoshoot<\/a> with their dog.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe, You &amp; Marley Forever &amp; Ever\u2728\ud83e\udd0d,\u201d Korupas shared.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In January, McCarthy celebrated Korupas\u2019 birthday with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DFYCyN6RM4d\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:a carousel of photos;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a carousel of photos<\/a> from their recent adventures, which included a Vikings practice and a trip to a Detroit Red Wings hockey game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d go to hell and back for her,\u201d McCarthy wrote. \u201cShe\u2019s my everything &#8211; my muse, my rock, and the heart of my universe. Happy 22nd My Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After being selected with the 10th overall pick by the Vikings in the 2024 NFL Draft, McCarthy tore his meniscus in his right knee during a preseason game in August 2024. McCarthy underwent surgery and was forced to miss the entire season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings next season after last year\u2019s starter, Sam Darnold, signed a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They haven&#8217;t told me, and I&#8217;m happy they didn&#8217;t because I try to earn it every single day,&#8221; McCarthy said of the starting job on Up &amp; Adams in March. &#8220;I never want that to be given to me. It&#8217;s such a privilege and an opportunity to give me that chance.
