Parker Kingston is no longer a student at Brigham Young University and has been removed from the football team, a school spokesperson said Friday.<\/p>\n
Three days after the redshirt junior receiver was arrested on a felony rape charge and hours after he was released on $10,000 bail and a $100,000 bond from the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane, Utah, BYU issued the announcement regarding Kingston.<\/p>\n

In addition, the school said that it was not aware of Kingston\u2019s legal issues until Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cUniversity administration and athletic administration, including BYU Head Coach Kalani Sitake, were only made aware of the investigation and allegations after Kingston\u2019s arrest this past Wednesday, Feb. 11,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
The loss of Kingston comes as a huge blow to the BYU football program, as the 21-year-old from Layton, who prepped at Roy High School before joining the team in 2022, led the Cougars with 67 receptions for 928 yards and five touchdowns in 2025.<\/p>\n
Wednesday evening, the Washington County Attorney\u2019s Office issued a news release saying it had filed a first-degree felony rape charge on Tuesday against Parker Trent Kingston following an investigation that began in February of 2025.<\/p>\n

A 20-year-old woman reported that Kingston sexually assaulted her on February 23, 2025, in her St. George apartment. She notified police officers of the assault on Feb. 27 while at the St. George Regional Hospital, according to a probable cause statement<\/a> unsealed by a 5th District Court judge on Thursday.<\/p>\n In that same probable cause statement, an officer said he interviewed Kingston and was told by the then-BYU football player that \u201call sexual activity\u201d that night \u201cwas consensual.\u201d<\/p>\n In Kingston\u2019s initial court appearance Friday afternoon, Judge John Walton approved terms and conditions agreed upon by Deputy Washington County Attorney Ryan J. Shaum and Kingston\u2019s representation, Salt Lake City defense attorney Cara Tangaro.<\/p>\n
