Per Adam Schefter, run game coordinator\/tight ends coach Brian Fleury is reportedly interviewing for the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator job on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">49ers tight ends coach Brian Fleury is interviewing today for the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator job.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/2022656496123949519?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 14, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seattle is fresh off a Super Bowl win, but needs to replace their offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak (another former 49ers&#8217; assistant coach), who left for Las Vegas to be the head coach of the Raiders. By interviewing Fleury, the Seahawks appear to be intent on continuing to run Kyle Shanahan&#8217;s offense. And why wouldn&#8217;t they? It&#8217;s the offense in which QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DarnSa00.htm\" data-playername=\"Sam Darnold\" title=\"Sam Darnold stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sam Darnold<\/a> has resurrected his career.<\/p>\n<p>Fleury has been with the 49ers for seven seasons. In 2019, he started with the team as a defensive quality control coach. In 2020-21, Fleury was an offensive quality control coach. He spent the next three seasons (2022-24) as tight ends coach before becoming the run game coordinator\/tight ends coach for the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>Losing Fleury would present a challenge for the 49ers. Not only will the 49ers be without All-Pro TE <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KittGe00.htm\" data-playername=\"George Kittle\" title=\"George Kittle stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">George Kittle<\/a> for part of the upcoming season after tearing his Achilles in the Wild Card round of the postseason, but the rest of the tight end room is in flux. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TongJa00.htm\" data-playername=\"Jake Tonges\" title=\"Jake Tonges stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jake Tonges<\/a> is scheduled to be a restricted free agent. He should be back, though.<\/p>\n<p>But last year&#8217;s free agent pick-up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FarrLu00.htm\" data-playername=\"Luke Farrell\" title=\"Luke Farrell stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Luke Farrell<\/a>, did not have a good season. And there&#8217;s not much more behind Tonges and Farrell. There&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillBr06.htm\" data-playername=\"Brayden Willis\" title=\"Brayden Willis stats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brayden Willis<\/a>, who was taken in the disastrous 2023 draft. But in three seasons, he&#8217;s yet to show much.<\/p>\n<p>If Kittle misses half the season, which is possible, the 49ers could bring in another tight end via free agency. They may also draft a tight end. So, with a couple of potentially new additions to that position, and a couple of underperforming tight ends returning, Shanahan will need to have his coach in place soon\u2014whether that&#8217;s Fleury or someone else.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The San Francisco 49ers could soon lose a coach to a division rival.
