The Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback Jalen Milroe<\/a> to his rookie contract. According to a report from ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>, it is a four-year deal worth $6.26 million.<\/p>\n

That is right around the expected value for a third-round pick. Milroe was taken by Seattle with the No. 92 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

The former Alabama<\/a> signal caller likely won\u2019t be tasked with starting right away, which could give him a chance to grow and develop at a reasonable pace at the next level. Coach Kalen DeBoer<\/a> opened up on what Jalen Milroe can provide the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat he brings is different,\u201d DeBoer told SiriusXM College Sports Radio<\/a>. \u201cI mean, there\u2019s just no one else that I see out there at his position that can do the things he\u2019s doing. You know, he understands that there\u2019s development that needs to continue to happen, but I\u2019m excited for him. Obviously, I know the region up there, and we\u2019ve shared, you know, some conversations on, you know, living arrangements and things like that. I mean, I know they\u2019ll help him out with that, but, you know, giving him some couple pointers and what to expect, just from my experiences. So, excited about that fit up there, him going in there and doing what he does. I know he\u2019s super excited too, you know, going to a part of the country where he\u2019s never lived, and you know, making a name for himself at a new place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The draft was a stressful time for Jalen Milroe, who had been projected anywhere from a late first-round pick to the middle rounds. He ended up having a decent wait.<\/p>\n

Still, DeBoer believes that will serve as motivation for Jalen Milroe. And now the rookie is inked to his first contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was there in the green room, and I couldn\u2019t be more proud of, you know, him understanding that it could be a thing very easily where he fell out of the first round,\u201d DeBoer said. \u201cI know for a lot of guys, that could be, you know, really disappointing, embarrassing, things like that. But you know, the piece that really made it a no-brainer in his mind, was the experience, to be there, first of all, to get that invite, take advantage of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt happens once, once in a lifetime. Then, also to be there to support the other two guys.
