The Seattle Seahawks declined Thursday to offer West Valley graduate\u00a0Shane Lemieux a futures contract that would have kept him with the organization in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Lemieux was signed to the practice squad in September, but was on injured reserve for most of the season and finished the year on IR as the Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 on Sunday in the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, Calif.<\/p>\n

The former Ram and Oregon Duck has struggled with injuries since he was a fifth-round pick by the New York Giants in 2020. He earned 12 starts with the Giants over four seasons before starting four games last season with New Orleans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thirteen of the 17 players on the practice squad were offered future contracts by Seattle, according to The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta.<\/a>\u00a0Wide receiver Tyrone Broden and running back Jacardia Wright, who both ended the season on the IR, were also offered futures deals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
