The Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>\u00a0aren’t going to be making a splash move like trading for a name as big as Jalen Ramsey.<\/p>\n

Those Bengals<\/a> left their comfort zone already in a major way this offseason with the massive extensions for Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. They also currently have the Trey Hendrickson contract drama to contend with and, almost incredibly, the contract drama with first-round pick Shemar Stewart.<\/p>\n

Even so, that won’t stop onlookers from suggesting the Bengals as fits for big moves. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox<\/a> is the latest, suggesting Zac Taylor and Co. make sense as a fit for a Ramsey trade with the Miami Dolphins<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“While a fresh schematic approach may help the Bengals defense, Cincinnati did virtually nothing this offseason to improve its cornerback room. After ranking 21st in passing yards allowed and 19th in net yards per pass attempt allowed, the Bengals didn’t sign or draft a single corner.”<\/p>\n

By now, Bengals fans fully understand that the team is all-in on the youth movement under new coordinator Al Golden. That means giving former first-rounder Dax Hill another year after a promising position change last season. It means giving former second-rounders Cam Taylor-Britt and DJ Turner run. And it also means letting veteran Mike Hilton remain in free agency, instead opting for those names and guys like second-year player Josh Newton.<\/p>\n

It’s a risky play, but bringing in a 31-year-old veteran with no experience in the system and his massive contract while giving up assets via trade would be an even bigger gamble.<\/p>\n
