The 28-year-old quarterback later underwent surgery to repair the injury and missed the remainder of the season as a result.<\/p>\n
Before going down, Jones was putting together what projected to be a career year, throwing for 3,101 yards and accounting for 24 total touchdowns against just eight interceptions.<\/p>\n
This offseason presents a clear crossroads: either pursue a Kyler Murray-type dynamic playmaker via trade or sign an upgrade such as Daniel Jones in free agency.<\/p>\n
With ample cap space and a talented supporting cast, including Garrett Wilson and a developing offensive core, the Jets are positioned to make a bold move.<\/p>\n
Standing pat is no longer an option for a franchise desperate to reverse decades of quarterback instability. The problem I\u2019d personally have with a quarterback trade like Kyler Murray is giving away too many assets instead of investing those into building out the roster as a whole.<\/p>\n
The Indianapolis Colts should be weary of a 29-year-old Jones returning from an Achilles injury, and if they let him walk, rolling with Riley Leonard or signing a veteran like Jimmy Garoppolo is not the end of the world.<\/p>\n
