To see which players draw the most praise — and the most criticism — Vegas Insider analyzed Reddit discussions across NFL and team subreddits, tracking how often players are mentioned and whether that conversation skews positive or negative. The result is a league-wide ranking of the NFL’s most loved and most hated players. Love and hate are measured separately, so the same player can rank highly in both. […] Jalen Hurts draws the most criticism league-wide. Hurts ranks No. 1 on the hate list (Hate Score: 10.0), reflecting the strongest negative fan reaction in the dataset.

Roob’s Eagles Observations: What everyone is getting wrong about Aaron Moorehead – NBCSP
I will never understand why Hurts engenders so much negativity. All the dude has ever done is work his ass off, show respect to the fans and his coaches and teammates, inspire the people around him, never get in trouble, take his team to the playoffs five years in a row, play lights out in two Super Bowls and win MVP in one of them. He’s started 82 games and won 57, and only seven quarterbacks in history have won more games after 82 starts. He’s carried himself like a pro since he got here and respresented this city with class and dignity while going to multiple Super Bowls. What the hell else do you want from your quarterback?

The Sean Mannion Offense: Part 1: Basic Principles – BGN
For the last few years, the Eagles’ offense has lived on “hero ball.” When things broke down, Jalen Hurts used his legs or made a wild throw to save the day. Saquon Barkley would make a defender miss and take it to the house. A.J. Brown would win a one-on-one vertical shot and score a touchdown. It’s exciting when it works, but it’s a hard way to live, especially when these players have an off game. When you rely on improvisation, rhythm can disappear quickly, easy throws get missed, and suddenly every third down feels like a life-or-death situation. Hiring Sean Mannion is a sign that the Eagles are moving in the opposite direction. It’s more about the scheme rather than just about having the best players. Mannion is a fast riser who spent the last two seasons in Green Bay, specifically helping Jordan Love and Malik Willis master a system built on timing and design. He comes from the Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay tree, where the goal isn’t for the quarterback to save the system, but for the system to make everything easier on the quarterback.

Fixing the OL – Iggles Blitz
There is another interesting player to watch. The Eagles claimed Willie Lampkin during roster cutdowns last year. He is small at 5-11, 290. Lampkin played OG in college and was very good. He went to the Senior Bowl and played mostly center. He was outstanding. He played guard and center for the Rams last summer and really flashed. I was shocked they cut him. I think they were hoping he wouldn’t get claimed. He did have a knee injury that kept him off the field last year. I’d love to know what the Eagles think of him. Do they prefer him at guard or center? With their exit from the 2024 playoffs at the hands of the Eagles top of mind, the Rams completely wrecked Philly for two quarters, holding the Super Bowl LIX champions to a putrid 33 total yards. The destruction continued early in the third, with the Los Angeles offense capitalizing on the extremely short field created by a Jared Verse strip-sack of Jalen Hurts to build a 26-7 lead. As my colleague and Rams radio color analyst Maurice Jones-Drew described the scene to me later, “The Linc was shook.” Then, little by little, it was like the Eagles remembered they were supposed to be one of the most balanced and talented teams in the NFL. Hurts went on an absolute tear in the second half to obliterate the Rams’ 19-point lead. The comeback was cemented with a pair of field-goal blocks, one by Jalen Carter and the second by Jordan Davis, setting up a truly indelible image: Davis, at 336 pounds, rumbling 61 yards on the return for a touchdown as time expired. Ultimately, the Rams’ early dominance proved more prophetic than the Eagles’ late escape, with L.A. battling its way to the NFC title game. Then again, this was the first of a handful of inexplicable losses that helped make the Rams’ path just a little bit harder than the top-seeded Seahawks’.

Inaugural NFL draft was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on this week in Philly history – Inquirer
More than 20 men crowded into a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton on South Broad Street in the winter of 1936. The goal would be to work out a long-term deal, but NFL Insider Ian Rapoport said the Cowboys could also consider a tag-and-trade option with Pickens. If that’s the case, is the trade value worth it in the end? It might not be. Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said on The Cross Chop Podcast with John Owning that the trade value of what Dallas could get in return for Pickens could be less than expected. He relayed the thoughts of an AFC scout on a trade and suggested a second-round pick with late-round pick swaps as the best case scenario, but indicated it may be just a third-rounder plus a fourth-rounder or something in that neighborhood.

Why do Spotrac and Over the Cap report different available salary cap numbers? – Hogs Haven
A key thing to remember is that both Spotrac and Over the Cap are making a number of assumptions, educated guesses and estimations. There will always be differences between the two sources, but the NFL and NFLPA publicly update the actual cap space situation once each year, which allows both sources to ‘reset’ to the same number before differences start creeping in again. The Commanders, right now, are estimated to have the 5th-most cap space in the NFL, which is quite a lot for a team with 52 players under contract. Ricard, entering his age 32 season, played both fullback and defensive tackle for Baltimore in his first three seasons. He has been a full-time fullback since 2020. Ricard is a one-time First-Team All-Pro (2024), a two-time Second-Team All-Pro, and a six-time Pro Bowl selection. Nikhil Mehta of SB Nation’s Ravens website, Baltimore Beatdown, does not believe Ricard will stay in Baltimore.

A look around at the noteworthy coaching changes for the Giants, Commanders, and Cowboys – PhillyVoice
My perception is that Giants fans are generally happy that Harbaugh will have a louder voice on personnel decisions than Schoen, which is understandable, since Schoen is pretty clearly in over his head as a GM. And short-term, sure, that’s fine and good, but there could be long-term issues, as future GM candidates could be turned off by a setup in which they have to defer to the head coach. Ultimately, Harbaugh will bring a base competency to the Giants that they did not have with their last three atrocious hires in Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and Brian Daboll. That’s bad news for the rest of the NFC East. The Giants will likely win more games than we are used to seeing. But also, in a weird way, this feels a lot like a hire geared toward just that — “base competency.” And certainly, I can understand the Giants’ impulse to raise their floor after a decade of awful football. But I also believe that this older iteration of Harbaugh has a limited ceiling, given his teams’ shortcomings in their most meaningful games over the last decade.

Can you guess this NFL tight end in today’s in-5 trivia game? – SB Nation
Hello football fans!
