The Minnesota Vikings<\/a> will likely be looking for another quarterback this offseason. J.J. McCarthy<\/a> had the lowest completion rate of QBs who started at least 10 games. He also had the highest interception rate in the NFL, throwing a pick on 4.9% of his passing attempts.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old was also the youngest QB to start a game this season. McCarthy could take a big leap this offseason, but the Vikings will certainly want to inject some more competition into their QB room.<\/p>\n

One potential option could be to try acquiring Derek Carr<\/a>. The 34-year-old has discussed coming out of retirement this offseason. Here was Derek\u2019s response.<\/p>\n

\u201cWould I come back? The answer obviously is yes. I\u2019ve had to say no a couple of times so far. Would I do it? Absolutely, I would do it. I told you two things. I\u2019d have to be healthy, and I would want a chance to win a Super Bowl. And obviously, that\u2019s a tough thing to find. That\u2019s hard to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Derek Carr on unretiring<\/p>\n

Carr has already been linked to the Vikings, and now his brother, David, directly asked Derek about joining a team that wears purple and gold. Derek\u2019s response was \u201cGo Lakers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet, the New Orleans Saints<\/a> still hold Carr\u2019s rights after he retired last season. This means Carr can\u2019t even talk about joining other teams since he\u2019s still under contract with another team. If a team wants to target Carr, they\u2019ll have to either hope he is released from the Saints\u2019 roster or work out a trade with New Orleans.<\/p>\n

However, if Carr does decide to unretire, he\u2019ll have a $36.6 million cap number for 2026. Meanwhile, they\u2019re already committed to 2025 second-round pick Tyler Shough<\/a>. In other words, if Carr unretired, the Saints would probably prefer to trade the veteran to get him off their books, while getting some compensation in return.<\/p>\n

If the Vikings believe the four-time Pro Bowl QB can help improve their team, new general manager Rob Brzezinski should be able to pull it off. Though the Vikings could find themselves competing with multiple teams this offseason.<\/p>\n
