The Chicago Bears are looking to take that next step this offseason to make sure this previous season was not a fluke. Their team needs to clear some space to sign free agents, as they are currently over the salary cap by more than $5.3 million at this point. There are some improvements that the team needs to take that next step, and there are some free agents who could do that. Let\u2019s take a deeper dive into one person who could be joining the team this offseason.<\/p>\n

Fox Sports\u2019 writer Greg Auman wrote an article predicting where the top 100 NFL free agents, and a few where predicted to land with Chicago. Below is the section he wrote<\/a> regarding the pairing:<\/p>\n

\u201cRobinson, 30, has played for four teams in the last two seasons, and was twice traded before finishing 2025 in Cleveland. He\u2019s gone from franchise tags to a $12 million contract last year, and he\u2019ll likely take less than that as he searches for some stability. He has 114 career starts, and that kind of experinece makes him a known commodity, which is valuable at tackle. Could the Bears, with injury concerns for at least the start of 2026, be a good match?\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson struggled last season with the Cleveland Browns as Pro Football Focus gave him the following rankings amongst the 89 offensive tackles in 2025:<\/p>\n

48.2 PFF grade (83rd)
\n56.2 pass blocking grade (73rd)
\n48.3 run blocking grade (82nd)<\/p>\n

He also allowed eight sacks and committed 14 penalties during his 755 offensive snaps. With left tackle Ozzy Trapilo suffering a ruptured patellar tendon in the postseason, this could be a good player who can compete for a starting offensive tackle position. This is not the only free agent Auman is predicting Chicago will sign<\/a>. It will be intriguing to see if the Bears are going to be interested in bringing in a veteran offensive lineman during the free agency period.<\/p>\n
