Fleury has never been an offensive coordinator at the collegiate or NFL level, but has prior experience as a defensive coordinator at FCS school Sacred Heart, as well as special teams coordinator at his alma mater Towson University, with whom he played quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Fleury\u2019s NFL coaching experience<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Fleury\u2019s NFL background dates back to 2013, when he was a quality control coach for the Buffalo Bills. The bulk of his time in the pros has been with Kyle Shanahan, who hired him in 2019 as a defensive quality control coach, then an offensive quality control coach, and most recently a combo of tight ends coach and run game coordinator. During his time as tight ends coach he\u2019s had the pleasure of working with and developing George Kittle into one of the best in the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Outside of coaching, Fleury spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins as a research analyst and Director of Football Research.<\/p>\n<p>Fleury has been an offensive coordinator candidate before<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">As you can tell, Fleury has worn many hats but has never had the play-sheet in his hands to call the offense.
