Jacksonville Jaguars’<\/a>\u00a0defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason.<\/p>\n

So what might his next contract look like, and will the\u00a0Jaguars<\/a>\u00a0re-sign him?<\/p>\n

Emmanuel Ogbah contract projection<\/p>\n

According to Spotrac<\/a>, Ogbah is projected to earn a one-year deal in free agency worth $2.41 million. He will be entering his age 32 season.<\/p>\n

In terms of player age, contract status, and statistical production, Jihad Ward, Bud Dupre, and Jerry Hughes were used by Spotrac as comparisons to determine what Ogbah’s deal could be.<\/p>\n

The addition of Ogbah added some needed veteran depth to the defensive end position. He was also familiar with Anthony Campanile from their time together in Miami.<\/p>\n

Through the first half of the year, Ogbah was a regular member of the Jaguars’ defensive end rotation. However, as the season progressed, his role was significantly reduced as Danny Striggow and BJ Green earned more opportunities. This includes being a healthy scratch on a few occasions.<\/p>\n

Ogbah finished the season with 16 quarterback pressures, one sack, and 13 tackles, according to PFF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At this contract projection, perhaps there’s a path back to Jacksonville, given that defensive end depth is a big need.
