Brian Fleury is reportedly defecting from the 49ers\u2019 coaching staff to become the Seahawks\u2019 offensive coordinator<\/a>, a week after Seattle won Super Bowl 60<\/a> at Levi\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n

He will replace Klint Kubiak<\/a>, who was hired as the Las Vegas Raiders\u2019 coach and worked with Fleury on the 2023 49ers\u2019 staff under Kyle Shanahan.<\/p>\n

Fleury coached George Kittle and the 49ers\u2019 other tight ends the past four seasons after joining the 49ers in 2019 as a defensive quality control coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cSad,\u201d Kittle wrote on the social-media platform X<\/a> in response to NFL Network\u2019s report on Fleury\u2019s impending move.<\/p>\n

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald had figured to promote from within to replace Kubiak, who is hiring former Seattle quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko to serve as the Raiders\u2019 offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

Fleury took on the formal title of run-game coordinator this past season after contributing in a similar capacity in earlier seasons, following Mike McDaniel\u2019s exit in 2022 to coach Miami.<\/p>\n

As Shanahan enters his 10th season as the 49ers\u2019 coach, he\u2019ll do so with his fifth different defensive coordinator in five years, having pegged Raheem Morris for that role.
