While it\u2019s still possible Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals hammer out a long-term deal, it\u2019s not looking good.<\/p>\n
According to the NFL Network\u2019s Cameron Wolfe, a team source says it\u2019s \u201cunlikely\u201d a reunion happens in the offseason. He added that \u201ctheir relationship has not been great in recent weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n
So where does Hendrickson end up?<\/p>\n
Wolfe says to \u201ckeep an eye on the Indianapolis Colts.\u201d The reporter noted that they have been aggressive recently, trading for Sauce Gardner in the middle of last season.<\/p>\n
Also, the Colts have two coaches that Hendrickson knows and trusts.<\/p>\n
\u201cLou Anarumo has a lot of familiarity with Trey Hendrickson,\u201d Wolfe said. \u201cThey just hired a D-line coach named Marion Hobby, who coached Trey Hendrickson for four years in Cincinnati. When they were all together, Lou, Marion and Trey Hendrickson, they had 57 sacks and four Pro Bowl seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
The question then becomes, how does Cincinnati respond?<\/p>\n
The answer is probably pretty predictable at this point.<\/p>\n
\u201c[The Bengals] are going to look at a lot more volume pickups on defense to get better with a group that just wasn\u2019t good enough to compete in 2025,\u201c Wolfe predicted.<\/p>\n
