NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Saints could receive draft compensation if quarterback Derek Carr returns from retirement and is traded to another franchise.<\/p>\n

Possible destinations include the Arizona Cardinals, where the Kyler Murray quarterback situation has struggled, or teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers or Minnesota Vikings.<\/p>\n The Vikings, led by head coach Kevin O\u2019Connell and with J.J. McCarthy at quarterback, could provide a favorable situation for Carr. The Miami Dolphins, with a new head coach, represent another potential landing spot.<\/p>\n Rattler expected to remain<\/p>\n The Saints are expected to retain backup quarterback Spencer Rattler, who has two years remaining on his contract at $1 million per year.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a starting quarterback in the league,\u201d wide receiver Chris Olave said of Rattler during end-of-season press conferences.<\/p>\n However, Rattler is viewed as a backup behind starting quarterback Tyler Shough.
