The Baltimore Ravens have a long list of priorities this offseason. They\u2019ll need to extend many starters and key depth pieces ahead of free agency, most notably, three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum. After that, they\u2019ll need to improve positions like offensive guard and edge rusher.<\/p>\n
After firing John Harbaugh<\/a> and hiring Jesse Minter<\/a>, there should be a much larger emphasis put on the defensive side this offseason. That should start with the need for pass rush, as Baltimore had just 30 sacks in 2025, a mark that tied them for the third-worst in the NFL. Luckily, a veteran reinforcement at that spot just became available.<\/p>\n The Miami Dolphins are under a new regime in 2026, and as a result, they\u2019re making some significant roster changes. Among those was the release of outside linebacker Bradley Chubb<\/a>. General manager Eric DeCosta should try to sign him as soon as possible.<\/p>\n Ravens have chance to improve pass rush with possible addition of Bradley Chubb<\/p>\n Injuries have been a problem throughout Chubb\u2019s career. Most recently, he tore his ACL in 2024 and missed that entire season. However, his numbers are encouraging.<\/p>\n His time in Miami was very solid. In the two-time Pro Bowler\u2019s first full season there, he totaled 11 sacks and had six forced fumbles. In 2025, he recovered from the ACL injury nicely with 8.5 sacks.<\/p>\n Despite all the injuries, he\u2019s torn his ACL twice and has also suffered various hand and ankle injuries, Chubb has proven himself as a sack artist. He\u2019s bounced back from those injuries time and time again, currently holding 48 career sacks across his eight-year career.<\/p>\n Regardless of the injury concerns, Chubb would immediately boost Baltimore\u2019s pass rush. Their leading sack-getter last year was defensive tackle Travis Jones, who had just five sacks. The production from the defensive front was limited and sporadic.<\/p>\n Right now, the edge rusher unit is led by 2025 second-round pick Mike Green and versatile outside linebacker Tavius Robinson. Other outside linebackers, Kyle Van Noy, Dre\u2019Mont Jones, and David Ojabo, are pending free agents. Chubb would provide some stability to a group frantically searching for answers.<\/p>\n New head coach Jesse Minter has proven he can get the best out of players recently cast off from teams. He did that with the Los Angeles Chargers after they acquired outside linebacker Odafe Oweh from the Ravens<\/a>. At the time of the deal, Oweh had zero sacks through five games in Baltimore, but finished the regular season with 7.5 sacks, and then added another three in Los Angeles\u2019 playoff loss to the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n Chubb likely wouldn\u2019t be the solution. The Ravens need a lot of help in that area, but he would certainly be a big step in the right direction. In every season where he\u2019s played 14 or more games, he\u2019s tallied at least 7.5 sacks. That\u2019s something Baltimore fans can get behind.<\/p>\n
