For someone who has hinted at an early retirement<\/a> multiple times throughout his career, Tyreek Hill, who will be released<\/a> by the Dolphins at 31 years old, doesn\u2019t sound done yet.<\/p>\n

Hill penned an Instagram post<\/a> vowing that the \u201cjourney doesn\u2019t stop here\u201d following Miami\u2019s decision to cut him as part of the new Dolphins regime\u2019s plan to overhaul the roster.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery chapter in life has taught me something,\u201d Hill wrote, in part. \u201cThis one taught me leadership, resilience, and mostly gratitude. The love I have for this game is unexplainable. And right now, this off season, for the first time ever, The Cheetah is all the way turned up and locked in. Focused.<\/p>\n

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowler who won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs, thanked the Dolphins and their fans after spending four years with the organization following a shocking trade in 2022.<\/p>\n

His final year in Miami ended after just four games, though \u2014 with Hill tearing his left ACL, dislocating his knee and suffering additional ligament damage<\/a> during a \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d game against the Jets.<\/p>\n

And as the Dolphins struggled with inconsistent quarterback play the last two years, Hill\u2019s production also dipped, with the speedy wideout managing just 959 receiving yards in 2024 and just 265 in 2025 before the season-ending injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the moment I landed in Miami, I felt the Love,\u201d Hill wrote in his Instagram post. \u201cYou believed in me. You pushed me. You celebrated with me. These past few years have been some of the most meaningful of my life and career.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo my brothers in the locker room who have come and gone \u2014 Thank You for the wins, the Ls, the memories, the sacrifices. We built something special, together, for the city of Miami.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill\u2019s time in Miami also included multiple off-field issues, though.<\/p>\n

In April 2025, Hill was involved in a domestic dispute where police were called in, but no charges were filed.<\/p>\n

His estranged wife also alleged in September<\/a> that there were eight instances of domestic violence dating back to January 2024 that occurred during their 17-month marriage.<\/p>\n

At the time, Hill denied the accusations through a statement from his attorney<\/a>, claiming that they\u2019re a \u201cshakedown\u201d and an attempt to \u201cgenerate bad media coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

The decision to cut Hill \u2014 and edge rusher Bradley Chubb \u2014 are just the first of many that new head coach Jeff Hafley and new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan will have to make to improve a team that finished 7-10 last season, with a key decision on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looming<\/a>.<\/p>\n
